The Mizzou Greek Alliance is strengthening campus-wide support for Fraternities, enhancing the Fraternity experience at the University of Missouri and working with the University administration to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a beneficial environment for Fraternities and their members. Our efforts benefit thousands of Greek students and the entire Mizzou community.

Initiatives

Improving Quality of Life at Fraternities

Share ‘best practices’ within the fraternity community including educational providers, advisor organizations, students, alumni and parents. Best practices focus on communications, operations, safety, academic excellence, philanthropic growth, capital campaigns, scholarship programs, and more.

Advocacy

Interface with University administration to enhance Greek life at Mizzou. Review current and past university governance issues with the fraternity system and suggest new practices and initiatives for improving the system. Promote effective due process and accountability standards for fraternities and the University to deter harmful conduct by individual members and move away from automatic organizational liability. Build working relationships with top administrators, particularly the Dean of Students and Director of Greek Life.

Outreach to Interfraternity Council

Provide perspectives, ideas, and assistance to help and support IFC officers and directors regarding issues and opportunities involving fraternities on campus.

Education and Training

Develop and present educational programs for undergraduate Fraternity members, chapter officers and alumni advisors including prevention of hazing, alcohol/substance abuse, and sexual assault in collaboration with Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Promotion of Diversity

Partner with University administrators and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to create opportunities for inclusion and membership in the Mizzou Greek System for underrepresented segments of the student body.
